Cottonwood Experience Center campaign goal met!
We are excited to announce that we reached our capital campaign goal for the new Experience Center at the Cottonwood Canyon State Park! What a perfect setting for a multi-use complex which will house overnight field study programs, cultural events – and, it will be available for public use!
The new $1.6 million complex consisting of the Experience Center, Cabins, Shower/Restroom facility and an additional group camping area will be built this coming Fall, with occupancy expected by Spring 2018.
We are very grateful to all of our supporters who funded this important project. Thank you to all of our individual donors – who showed their support at all levels. And, special thanks to The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, Sherman County, Gilliam County, Avangrid Foundation, and the Oregon Community Foundation – who each gave $50,000 or more.
What a great team effort – we are so proud of this project which highlights our efforts to promote environmental education, access, and healthy activities in Oregon State Parks. While we wait for construction to begin…here is an image of the project.
