Iwetemlaykin State Heritage Site

In collaboration with OPRD, The Nez Perce Tribe, The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Oregon State Parks Foundation helped broker the purchase of 62 acres of land near Wallowa Lake in Wallowa County.  This property was designated as Iwetemlaykin State Heritage Site and was named as Governor Kulongiski’s 2009 Park-a-year project.
