Peter D. Mohr, Chair

Peter is an Attorney with Jordan Ramis PC. An environmental and natural resources lawyer, Peter specializes in water law including issues related to wetlands and wildlife as well as wind power. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Environmental, Energy & Natural Resources Section); Oregon State Bar (Environmental & Natural Resources Section); Colorado Bar Association; Oregon Business Association (Environmental & Economic Development Committee); METRO Natural Areas Program Performance Oversight Committee (Appointed Member).

Brigitte Sutherland, Treasurer

Brigitte is an Accountant and Shareholder with Perkins & Co. With more than 15 years of public and private accounting experience, Brigitte specializes in tax planning,     research and compliance for pass-through entities: S-corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. She was formerly a senior manager for Reznick Group in Bethesda, MD., where she had client responsibility for tax and assurance services. Brigitte also has experience in private industry as an assistant controller.

Brian P. Harney, Secretary

Brian is the Smart Energy Program Manager for NW Natural. Brian also served as director of marketing and communications for the Washington County Visitors Association and Cycle Oregon Ride Director/Senior Events Manager for Peter Jacobsen Productions. He is affiliated with the American Lung Association. Reach the Beach (Founder); and the American Marketing Association.

Bruce S. Barnes, Immediate Past Chair

Bruce is a Plant Identification Software Producer; and a Retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker.He is affiliated with theEpiscopal Relief and Development (National Council of Advice; Multistate Regional Coordinator); Oregon Native Plant Society; Diplomat in Clinical Social Work.  In the past, he has also been affiliated with the  National Association of Social Workers; Oregon East Symphony (Founding President; Treasurer; Board); Oregon County Mental Health Directors Association (Chair). He served as Chair of the Foundation from January 2013 to January 2015,  and Secretary before that.

Jennifer Allen (ex officio)

Jennifer is an Associate Professor, Public Administration, Hatfield School of Government, Portland State University.  In the past, Jennifer has served as the Director of PSU’s Institute for Sustainable Solutions, and as the Executive Vice President of Ecotrust, a regional non-profit organization focused on conservation-based development in the Pacific Northwest. Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Public Policy from George Mason University, a Masters of Environmental Management from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a BA in American Studies from Yale University.  Jennifer is a member of the Oregon State Parks Commission and serves on the Foundation Board as an ex-officio representative of the Commission.

Ryan Bledsoe

Ryan is a Partner with the Tonkon Torp LLP law firm.  A former financial analyst for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, Ryan works in both federal and state courts on a range of issues including securities, environmental, intellectual property, trusts and contract law. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar; and was formerly on the Board of Trustees of the Forest Park Conservancy .

Lea Ann Easton

Lea Ann is an Attorney and Partner, with Dorsay & Easton LLP. A former executive director for the Native American Program at Legal Aid Services of Oregon, Lea Ann specializes in federal Indian law and focuses on representation of tribal governments and tribal entities. She an Adjunct Professor with the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College; a member of the Oregon State Bar (Executive Committee, Juvenile Law Section and Indian Law Section); and is also on the Board of Directors of SOLVE.

Mollie Gundersen

Mollie is a Senior Audit Manager at CohnReznick LLP.  She is a certified public accountant (CPA) specializing in providing audit and management advisory services to various types of real estate entities and nonprofit organizations. She specializes in residential real estate and has a national practice servicing clients including developers, investors, for-profit and nonprofit owners and management companies.  In her free time, Mollie and her family are frequent campers in Oregon State Parks.

Stephen Hatfield

Stephen is the Outdoor Programs & Outreach Manager for REI in Oregon.  He manages REI’s outdoor programs and community investment in Oregon. REI’s Outdoor School offers a wide array of educational field classes, outings and experiences to help individuals connect to the outdoors – and to each other. He has more than 20 years of experience designing, developing and managing programs related to outdoor recreation, environmental education, conservation, habitat restoration and volunteer engagement.  Prior to joining REI in 2011, Stephen was Stewardship Director for the Forest Park Conservancy for 6 years.

Jennifer McCormick

Jennifer is the Marketing Manager at Oregon Public Broadcasting.  She is well known to the Park System, having worked in Marketing Communications for almost 6 years before going on to work as Communications Director for Western Rivers Conservancy and then moving to Oregon Public Broadcasting.  She also served two years on the Board of Travel Salem. Jennifer has more than 10 years of experience leveraging integrated marketing – including digital, social and traditional media – and community partnerships to successfully plan and execute marketing strategies for non-profits and governmental agencies.

Seth L. Miller (ex officio)

Seth is the Executive Director of the Oregon State Parks Foundation; He is also President and owner of Best From The Cascades. Seth brings strategic management, financial and process improvement expertise to growing consumer product and service companies. With an MBA from the Harvard Business School and more than 30 years of hands-on leadership experience, Seth lead a Harvard Community Partners project team that made recommendations for revising the strategy of the Oregon State Parks Trust in 2011, and subsequently became a member of the Board of the renamed Oregon State Parks Foundation in September of 2014.  He became Executive Director in early 2016.

Tom Simpson

Tom is the Director of Government & Regulatory Affairs at The Standard. His community affiliations include College Application Week (Steering Committee Member); American Leadership Forum of Oregon (Board Member); and Portland YouthBuilders (Board Member).

Lisa Van Laanen

Lisa Sumption (ex officio)

Lisa has been the Director of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department since March of 2014.   She joined the Department in August of 2007 as the Assistant Director -Administrative Services.  Before joining the Department, she worked in E-Commerce and Audit roles with the Oregon Department of Administrative Services and the Oregon Department of Human Services.  She began her career in regional management with KMart Corporation for 10 years.  As the Director of OPRD, Lisa is an ex-officio member of the Foundation Board.

Tim Wood 

Tim is the most recent former Director of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (he retired in January 2014).  He also currently serves on the Board of Western Rivers Conservance.  His past professional & community affiliations include the National Association of State Park Directors (Board Member); SOLVE (Board Member); Tillamook Forest Heritage Center (Board of Trustees); and Ocean Policy Advisory Council. He was previously a Colonel in the US Army,  and served with the Army Corps of Engineers (Portland District).
